Overview:

Bunyad has an extensive history of conducting water supply projects in Punjab and is presently working in 5043 villages in 11districts of Punjab.  Bunyad not only has domestic partners in its respective projects but also has international collaborative projects such as the ‘Provision of the Clean Drinking Water Project’ in Sahiwal, financed by  Philips Morris International.

What we did:

Bunyad attempts to improve the quality of life of those people in remote areas. This is done by increasing the aforementioned people’s access to safe drinking water and proper sanitation facilities. Moreover, raising awareness about the issue better equips individuals about how to ensure the sanitation of their drinking water, as well as the importance of water conservation. In addition to this, Bunyad has also worked in districts affected by floods. These districts include Muzafargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Multan, Hafizabad and Layyah. Bunyad provided 89000 people with clean drinking water, while also setting up water containers and hand pumps with the support of the UNICEF. Moreover, Bunyad created Hygiene kits for the targeted communities and established five Child-Friendly Spaces near the camps of those who were affected by the floods.  

Around 5000 children in the said camps were engaged in sports activities and were treated by psychologists in order to overcome the trauma experienced by the floods.
