Nourishing the habit of literacy Promotion in rural communities by extending learning opportunities to whom who are deprived of access to education.
Literacy gives pavement to success and significantly contributes for sustainable human development; it empowers individuals, groups and nations to participate effectively and positively in the development of the society.
It is one of the key instruments for equipping people with minimum knowledge and skill to perform better in their belonging affairs .Being unable to read and write is not only disability for the individuals themselves but also become source of stagnation of social reforms, poverty alleviation and many other forms of social and economic development .
The developing countries like Pakistan need to educate and train their human resources on urgent basis for accelerating the process of development. The most reliable and suitable means of promoting education in our country is formal schooling. However this schooling system not covering those who have missed their four or five years of schooling , or dropped out and illiterate now .An Approach is needed that cover all types of, out of school and illiterates.

One Million Point of Light For Nourishing the habit of Literacy Promotion, Bunyad will offer literacy and Non formal education to female and children of rural communities in targeted areas. Under the OML project, a total of 800000 female of age group of (15 to 40) will receive literacy in 32000 Literacy Centers. Each center will cater 30 female.

• Total enrollment 800000 Female (15-40)
• No of teachers per literacy center 01
• Duration of the literacy classes 07 months
• Place Provided by community/ Rented/ government and private school build

<<<<<<<<Establishment of
Vocational Skill Training Center >>>>>>>>
Enrolled Female in literacy centers will also be given opportunity and encourage to discuss their future work aspirations , in the light of their aspirations vocational courses will be start in the fourth month of literacy centers . The main purpose of vocational training is to consolidating and reinforcing basic literacy skill which the learners have already been acquiring from the literacy centers. This will enable them to make a successful transition from Literacy to work. |

The overall objective of the project is:
- To contribute for achieving the targets of Millennium Development Goals (MDG) by Nourishing the habit of literacy promotion in rural communities by extending the learning opportunities to whom who are deprived of access to education.
<<<Aims & Specific Objective of the Project >>>
- Offer literacy to 800000 female by Establish 32000 Literacy Centers in rural areas of targeted districts for the illiterate females of age group (15 to 40).

Educate 200000 out school female children of age group (3 to 14) by establishing NFPE Centers at their nearest places to their residencies.

Provide vocational training to the adult female who will be becoming graduate from literacy centers for successful literacy transition into work.

Capacity building of teachers in teaching methodologies, checking dropouts, child rights and record keeping, in collaboration with the Community Groups.

Sensitizing and empowering the communities by involving them in all processes at all stages of the project for successful planning and implementation of various interventions and their sustainability.
